MENTORING WITH HORSES | GREENEVILLE, TN

Developing Life Skills thru Experiential Horsemanship

Self-worth, SELF-CONFIDENCE, mindfulness

TRUST, EMPATHY, responsibility, healthy relationships

COMMUNICATION, LEADERSHIP, INDEPENDENCE

Our Mentoring with Horses Focus Areas

We combine the transformational benefits of both experiential and therapeutic equine-assisted services (EAS) with immersive indoor and outdoor experiences to enhance trust, assertiveness, self-worth, self-confidence, self-regulation, patience, empathy, mindfulness, healthy relationships, communication, personal development, and much more!

Also, it’s not about the activities. Its all about authentic relationships!

01

Horse Discovery Camps & Retreats (Experiential & Transformational)

Enjoy a wonderful, immersive setting and quality time with horses from our amazing herd! Interact with them personally while experiencing their beauty, confidence, keen awareness, intelligence, sentient emotions, and unique personalities. Explore genuine, authentic, non-judgmental, transformational encounters as you connect, share in, and partner with them through professionally facilitated activities and dynamic reflection!

Encompassed within our ½-day camp and longer retreats: Introduction & Safety; Body Language & Awareness Fundamentals; Observe & Meet the Herd; Grooming for Mindfulness and Connection; Horse Handling Basics; Leading in Hand and Navigating Obstacles (On-Lead and/or at Liberty); plus an Equine-Facilitated Learning (EFL) Group Activity.

02

Experiential & Therapeutic Horse-manship Seminars & Workshops

We inform, educate, promote, and facilitate interactive knowledge sharing and guided experiential discovery to promote enhanced sensitivity, empathy, awareness, respect for boundaries, mindfulness, attunement, non-verbal (body language) communication, authenticity, and more through sentient connection and partnership with horses.

Why horses? They have thoughts, feelings, emotions, and personality. They are sociable, very sensitive to our energy, highly attuned and responsive to our behavior, and capable of individualized connections and authentic relationships. Partnering with horses brings tangible experiential and therapeutic benefits while being more fun, more exciting, more engaging, more powerful, more intense, and more effective than other approaches!

03

Stable Moments® Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) for At-Risk Youth

We provide therapeutic equine-assisted mentoring to “at-risk” youth who have been placed within a local residential facility and who are dealing with early developmental (complex) trauma needs.

Our Executive Director is certified in the Stable Moments® program and oversees its delivery. The youths benefit from a formal, structured, and demonstrably effective mentorship program which pairs each youth with a horse and a trauma-informed mentor for weekly EAL sessions.

For one hour each week, the youths participate in unmounted equine-assisted learning activities to help heal trauma, promote resilience, and develop skills that help equip them to better navigate life and make healthier transitions into adulthood.

Life Skills Development

Through our one-on-one Mentoring with Horses EAL sessions, we meet our participants where they’re at, respecting unique personalities, interests, strengths, challenges and goals, to help support the development of insights and life skills in the areas of self-worth, self-regulation, emotional awareness, responsibility, healthy relationships, and independence. Such skills include calmness, mindfulness, confidence, respect, empathy, humility, trust, focus, communication, anger management, executive functioning, and social awareness.

Mindfulness

The practice of maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of one’s thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, without judgment, as they arise.

Attunement

The process of connecting with another by sensing and understanding the needs, emotions, and experiences of the other without explicit outward communication.

Authenticity

The degree to which one’s external actions are congruent with their internal values and desires, as exhibited in how one acts and changes in response to external influences.
